Pioneer bdr-xd05s drive utility for mac

Only thing I can think off that the drive is not compatible with macOS High Sierra.I've tried everything suggested in this article: oubleshooting-tips/.

I purchased the Pioneer BDR-XD05B blu ray player, but my 2017 tMBP with macOS High Sierra is unable to place it in the Finder window. I searched for this answer on here before, but I'm unable to find a solution to this problem.
